Bobby Bear is a cartoon character from 1919, in the English newspaper Daily Herald. He is a young male bear, based on the Steiff teddy bear that was very popular then. His friends are Ruby Rabbit, Maisie Mouse, Percy Porker and Freddy Fox. He was the first bear in a cartoon, one year ahead of Rupert Bear.
