The series is about the adventures of a group of Gummi bears, the last survivors of a once great civilisation Gummis. The group fled the land centuries ago when humans forced them into exile. They were jealous of Gummi bears for the advancements and their magical powers. Many humans think that the Gummi bears only exist in fairy tales, but the group of now seven Gummi’s lives in the underground maze of Gummi Glen in the medieval kingdom Dunwyn.
The adventures begin when the human child Cavin accidentally enters the underground world of Gummi Glen. He can enter in the world of Gummi’s, because he has a Gummi Medallion, which was found years ago by his grandfather. He is captured and interrogated, but soon the Gummi’s discovered that he means the bears no harm and they make him a special friend of the colony. The medallion magically opens the Great Book of Gummi, a major source of lost knowledge of the Gummi bears. With this knowledge they defend Dunwyn against evil. In the course of the series, the Gummi bears become friends with more friendly humans.
The main opponent of the Gummi Bears and Dunwyn is Duke Sigmund Igthorn, a nobleman with an army of giants from the neighbouring province Drekmore. He has discovered that the Gummi bears are still alive and he is committed to making sure that he becomes invincible and that Dunwyn Castle is conquered.
Important in the series and the life of the Gummi Bears is the gummiberry juice, a magic potion that gives the Gummi bears great jumping strength. It gives humans super strength and may temporarily serve as fuel for machinery and vehicles.
The Gummi Bears fight against villains and magical characters like wizards and gods, to conceal their existence. Also they get to know more about the history of the Gummi’s, who now are spread all around the world.

There are seven Gummi’s in Gummi Glen: Zummi, Sunni, Grammi, Tummi, Cubbi, Gruffi and Gusto. Meet all the Gummi bears from Gummi Glen.
Throughout the world there are more Gummi bears, as in Barbic Wood and Gummadoon. There are also humans in the series, of which some do and some don’t know that the Gummi bears exist. And as in every series there are villains.
