Here is a list of the most expensive teddy bear in the world and they’re all Steiff bears. The teddy bears attracted buyers for various reasons, which made them so expensive.

Steiff’s Louis Vuitton Bear

Sold for £ 130,190 on 14th October 2000.
41 Steiff teddy bears, ‘U Pitchnoun’, were decorated by 41 manufacturers of luxury goods. The Korean Jesse Kim bought the Louis Vuitton teddy bear at “Les Teddies de l’an 2000′, a charity auction in Monaco. This teddy bear now lives in the Teddy Bear Museum in Jeju, Korea.

Teddy Girl

Sold for £ 110.000 on 4th December, 1994.
Teddy Girl is a cinnamon Steiff teddy bear from 1904 and was owned by Colonel Bob Henderson. Colonel Henderson fought in World War II, with Teddy Girl by his side. The richly documented history was responsible for the high price.

Sold for £ 101,556 in Giengen, Germany.
A Steiff Happy, 40cm dual plush teddy bear from 1926, sold at the 2002 Steiff Festival in Giengen, Germany.

Titanic Bear

Sold for £ 91,750 in 2000.
1912 black mourning teddy bear made after the sinking of the Titanic, sold at Christie’s, London.

Sold for £ 82,000 in 2000.
The oldest known Steiff teddy bear from 1904, 40cm high. Sold in 2002 at the Steiff Festival in Giengen, Germany.

Harlequin teddy bear

Sold for £ 60,000 in 1999 on the Steiff Festival Giengen, Germany.
Harlequin: multi-coloured teddy bear, made by Steiff in 1925 and given to a Steiff employee. The bear has red and grey stripes and yellow paws.

Happy

Sold for £ 55,000 at Sotheby’s, London.
Happy, a tipped mohair Steiff teddy bear from 1926, bought by American Paul Volpp as a 42nd wedding anniversary gift for his wife Rosemary. Sold in 1989 at an auction of Sotheby’s, London.

Elliot

Sold for £ 49,500 at Christie’s in 1993.
32cm blue Steiff teddy bear from 1908, sold at Christie’s auction in 1993.

Steiff teddy bear with hot water bottle

Sold for $ 30,000 at Christie’s International in London.
The bear was produced in 1910 by Steiff and wore a brown fur jacket with a lace to tie both the ends.

Sold for £ 12,100 in 1989.
A red Steiff teddy bear from 1908 owned by Princess Xenia, the daughter of George Mikhailovich, Grand Duke of Russia. Sold in 1989 at a Christie’s auction in London, England.
