Coca-Cola Polar Bears

The Coca-Cola polar bear was introduced in 1993 with introduction of the ‘Always Coca-Cola’ ad campaign. The ads included a variety of innovative technical approaches, such as computer animation. One of these innovative commercials was ‘Northern Lights’, which introduced what would become one of the most popular symbols of their advertising: the Coca-Cola Polar Bear. In the commercial, the polar bears watch the aurora borealis and drink from bottles of Coke.

The polar bear has gone on to star in a more Coca-Cola commercials, including those showing winter sports. For the holidays, bear cubs helped the bear select a Christmas tree, later the bear cubs played ball with a seal cub. And the last one is a bear cub making friends with a group of penguins, while a Beach Boys song plays in the background.
