1930 - 1939
'Teddy', a Merrythought Bingie Baby with gold tipped white mohair, orange and black glass eyes, black stitched nose, mouth and claws, artificial-silk plush lined ears, swivel head, jointed arms, felt pads, seated, cloth tag on back of right leg and button in ear.
circa 1937, 12"/30.5cm high. (some slight thinning and fading) Sold for £ 576 (2007).
A rare large Merrythought display teddy bear with golden mohair, orange and black glass eyes, pronounced clipped muzzle, black stitched nose, mouth, webbed hand claws and feet claws, swivel head, jointed limbs with felt pads, rounded hump, label on left foot and silver-plated policeman teething rattle around neck.
1930s, 48"/122cm high. (thinning to inside of right leg, slight wear and fading, splitting to feet pads) Sold for £ 960 (2007).
1940 - 1949
A rare Merrythought Punkinhead teddy bear with blue mohair, clear and black glass eyes with white painted backs, black stitched nose and mouth, golden velvet muzzle and feet, white mohair topknot, golden mohair lining to ears and chest, tan hand pads, pink felt shorts and yellow label on foot.
Late 1940s/early 1950s, 10"/25,5cm high. (topknot bald, thinning and balding to rest of mohair, shorts faded with hole in front, split to heel of foot and some fading) Sold for £ 960 (2007).
1960 - 1969
A rare Merrythought Peter Bear with golden mohair, velvet heart shaped face, black stitched nose, printed mouth, eye lashes and feet claws, swivel head, jointed arms with felt pads, velvet feet and yellow label on foot.
1962/1963, 13"/33cm high. (eyes replaced and some repair to feet pads) Sold for £ 384 (2007).
