Big Boy Willy
This are stories about a little man and his friend, the bear: Old Mahony and Big Boy Willy. They experience lots of adventures for the smaller kids, like 'The little man and the bear' and 'A trap for the family Bear'. In this last book, it's summer en the little man Old Mahony and his friend, the brown bear Big Boy Willy are standing in the river and are fishing - both in their own way. Suddenly the peace is disturbed: a bear family comes to the river. They splish and splash in the water and scare away all the fish. The little man decides to scare the bear family away. Old Mahony digs a hole to trap the bears.....but falls into it himself. But all together, Big Boy Willy and the bear family, manage to save him, and after that they all go fishing in the river.
About the writer Wolfram Hänel
Wolfram Hänel was born in 1956 in Fulda (Germany). He began writing plays and stories for children. After which, together with Jean-Pierre Corderoc'h, he wrote the Big Boy Willy stories. Wolfram lives with his wife and daughter mainly in Hannover and sometimes in Kilnarovanagh, a small village in Ireland, where there are no bears, but lots of salmon in the river.
About the illustrator Jean-Pierre Corderoc'h
Jean-Pierre Corderoc'h was born in 1959 in Nantes, in the western part of France. He studied at the 'École des Arts Décoratifs' in Strasbourgh, till 1984, where he found his love for children books. Since then Jean-Pierre makes picture-books and children books.
