Fozzie's Family Tree
Through the years we learned to know a lot of Fozzie's relatives. We have put them in order, so you can see Fozzie's Family Tree. Meet his father, his mother, his little brother and all the other family members.
The jokes Fozzie tells, aren't funny, but we still laugh because Fozzie is trying so desperately hard to be the funniest stand-up bear comic in the world with the oldest material known to man. If he was just a guy who kept telling bad jokes he would be annoying, but his earnestness and innocence in the face of failure makes him both lovable and funny.
The Muppet Show (1976-1981)
The Muppet Show featured an entirely new cast of Muppets:
- Kermit the Frog, a Sesame Street favourite;
- Fozzie Bear, the lovably inept comic and Kermit's second banana;
- Miss Piggy, a glamorous, Rubenesque starlet and Kermit's would-be love interest;
- Gonzo the Great, a buzzard-like creature with a chicken fetish;
- Rowlf, the imperturbable piano-playing dog;
- Statler and Waldorf, two geriatric hecklers;
- The Electric Mayhem, the ultra- cool house band;
- Scooter, hired as Kermit's gofer because his uncle owned the theatre.
The show also featured countless other Muppets, from a 12-inch rat named Rizzo to a seven-foot monster named Sweetums.
In the first season of the Muppet Show, Fozzie's monologue consisted mostly of simple one-liners, while each time being heckled by Statler and Waldorf. After the first season, the monologues were based on gimmicks, such as ventriloquism or telling jokes on roller skates. Fozzie told a joke in the opening scene of every episode of season one. We have put three opening jokes from the first season on a page.
The Muppet Babies (1984-1992)
Baby Kermit, Baby Miss Piggy, Baby Fozzie and Baby Gonzo are the best of friends. They play together all the time and each day, they have more fun than the day before. In fact, they may just be the most adventurous babies that you'll ever meet. Whether they're riding their bikes, playing ball or colouring pictures, the Muppet Babies always have smiles on their faces and will always bring a smile to yours.
Is Baby Fozzie Bear the funniest bear in the world? There is not much competition for the title, but Baby Fozzie thinks it's him. He doesn't have the best stand-up material in the world, but at least he can stand up. And Baby Fozzie is also still working on his favourite punch line, he can't decide between grape punch and fruit punch.
The Muppet Movies
Through the years, the Muppets have made many movies, ten to be exact. If you want to know what the story in each movie was, go to our page with the ten Muppet movies.
